Germany’s Fintech Star Falls After Missing Billions at Wirecard

(Bloomberg) — Just a month ago, the chief executive officer of Wirecard AG boasted on Twitter that the future would still be bright for the digital payments company when “all the noise and dust settles.”

At the time, Markus Braun was a paper billionaire. But over the course of a couple of days, the fintech veteran has been forced to step-down as CEO and seen the value of his stake dwindle after a two-day stock rout.

Govt clarifies it hasn’t ordered Google, Apple to ban TikTok, other Chinese apps in India

This doesn’t mean such a ban isn’t possible in the future though.

Contrary to ongoing reports, the Government of India hasn’t ordered Google and Apple to ban Chinese apps like TikTok and CamScanner from Play Store and App Store respectively. The Government’s clarification comes in response to a viral message of an order allegedly from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) doing the rounds claiming that Google and Apple have been prohibited from making some very “specific” apps available on their respective stores.
